In Loving Memory of a Beautiful Soul:
Kelista Elinor Knurek (Way) went home to be with Jesus and is now shining in Glory.
Kelista (aka-Kelly) Elinor (Way), Knurek was born on December 27th, 1944 (Age 77). Kelly passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 14th, 2022, peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Unfortunately, she suffered from several medical complications. She was predeceased by her parents William W. Way Sr, and Dorothy Ellen (Lamoy) Way of Plattsburgh. Her siblings, Donna Hicks and her brother William Way Jr. brother in-laws Walter Sr Somody Michael Hicks, and her mother in-law Barbara Knurek, daughter in-law-Betty Furnia, and the father of her five children, (Gerald Furnia) She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Knurek, five children... Karina, Valerie, Cheryl, Jerry, and Lori. There are 11 grandchildren... Sedona, (husband Scott) Craig, (partner Maggie,) Chanel, Joshua, Lacey (husband Mike), Dean (wife Amanda), Debra (husband Dave), Jerry-Allen Jr (wife Mandy), Dorothy (Dottie) (partner Chuck), Dwayne (Bubber) (partner Betsy), Naomi (partner Sam).
She had 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 4 siblings... Douglas Way (wife Maryanne), Mary Somody, Theresa Hicks (partner Leon), Sheila (husband Steve). There are many nieces and nephews. Kelly's fur baby doggie is Mitzy who she dearly loved with all her heart. Kelly served the Lord Jesus faithfully and she ministered with her husband in the nursing homes. while witnessing to people.
She was in nursing for many years, and a cook at a children's home. She enjoyed serving meals to hundreds of children and there family members.
She loved... gardening, writing, long / short stories about her life and family. She was extremely family oriented and loved spending time with them. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Kelly loved preparing for it. Her home was so magical. Since she enjoyed You-Tube, she decided to start a channel called, “The Way Home with Bits and Pieces,( in 2020). It features... her gardening, canning, cooking, testimonials with her daughter, and her husband. Kelly's passion was to watch her homestead shows on You-Tube daily ,and listened to her gospel music every morning, which brought her great joy, peace, and comfort.
Kelly was an incredibly generous heart giving soul. She spent endless hours preparing boxes with her family for Operation Christmas Child, for gifting children around the world. which was near and dear to her heart and soul. Kelly loved to help people.
She was a valued member of her church for many years. she helped in the children's ministry. Kelly and her
husband Bob worked and ran a detention center for teenagers.
Her favorite saying was, "Find a need and fill it".
She was greatly loved by many and will be forever missed. (Service)
