Keith's obituary

Keith Lamar O’Banion was a joyful, caring and trusted father, brother, son, nephew, cousin and friend. He fell asleep in death November 29, 2023 at 54 years of age. He was born January 17, 1969 to the late James O’Banion and Vera O’Banion in Detroit, Michigan. In 1975, a young Keith along with his large family moved to Forest, Mississippi. He grew up with a little brother, Kevin as well as several older aunts and uncles, which made for a lively family life. Ever the dedicated student, he graduated near the top of his class from Forest High School.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 6, 1986. In 1991 He married Kim Hughes and from this union had a son, Ke’Dric. Keith loved being a father and took seriously his responsibility to teach him Christian values.

Keith was a people person and enjoyed being surrounded by his loved ones. He was a great friend and “big brother” to so many among his congregation and workmates. He was known for being a fun loving person, always making jokes. He also took pride in being a sharp dresser. He was the life of any party and at any function would dance the night away. He valued his relationship with Jehovah God, attending meetings regularly and engaging in the ministry up until his passing.

Left to cherish fond memories of Keith are his loving son Ke’Dric, brother Kevin O’Banion, aunts Betty Thomas (Jimmy), Sandra Cullum (Eddie), and uncle Darryl Jones (Beverly). Coming from a close knit family, he will truly be missed by a host of special Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a multitude of friends and extended relatives. Preceding him in death are both parents, aunts; Kim and Mattie, uncles; Clavis Jr, Dwight (Butch), Larry and Derrick, and cousins; Jaren and Jordy.
