In lieu of flowers

Please consider giving to a fundraiser for Warrior Healing Center.

Background

The Warrior Healing Center fulfills a need in Cochise County helping veterans get back on their feet. Keith volunteered much of his time there as a Veteran Project Officer and loved it. Some veterans have given us feedback that he made a real impact in their lives. Contribute to Warrior Healing Project  Right arrow

Frequently asked questions

Answered by a team member at Warrior Healing Project

  • What is your mission?

To prevent veteran suicide with the right treatment at the right time at the right place.

  • How are donations used?

Donations keep the doors open at the Warrior Healing Center, a place where veterans can feel at home. They can always find coffee and snacks, friendly faces and a lot of programs that help them connect and engage in the community. Donations are also used to assist veterans who are suffering with the crisis at hand - giving them a hand up so they can restabilize and then be there as support for the next veteran who is struggling.

  • What can be done with a $100 donation?

$100 can put a veteran who is facing homelessness in a warm, dry bed, with a full belly.
$100 can assist a veteran with an emergency bill due that they just don't have the resources to cover on their own.
$100 can assist Warrior Healing Project in putting together materials to present to the community how to recognize, assess and intervene in a situation where a veteran is experiencing a suicide crisis.
If the donor pays state taxes in Arizona, Warrior Healing Project is a Qualified Charitable Organization which qualifies the donor for a $ for $ tax refund as the law provides.

  • What progress has been made already thanks to your donors?

Warrior Healing Center had well over 8,000 visits in 2022, including 574 first time veteran visitors who put in requests for 1200 types of assistance. 61 of those 574 self-identified as a threat to self or others, and all 61 continue to work with the resources they've been provided and are doing well. WHC's hard work assisted 113 local veterans in getting their benefits upgraded, which has connected them to financial compensation for injuries that are connected with their service - including education, health care and dental benefits, among others.

  • What is the history of your organization?

Warrior Healing Project is a grass-roots organization that is 100% volunteer and exists nowhere other than Sierra Vista, Arizona. We began in 2018 and have evolved into a veteran's center based on the need that we observed working with veterans in Cochise County.
