Keith's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Edward Merjanian, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Keith was born on June 21, 1950, and peacefully exited this world on November 25, 2024 at 9:12pm.
Keith leaves behind his son, Corwin Edward Merjanian, and his daughter-in-law, Marie Merjanian. The joys of his life were his grandchildren, Elliana Gomez, Chance Merjanian, Silas Stinnett, and Caiden Merjanian. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Judy Pendarvis, and his Uncles Ara and Vartan Merjanian and many more loved ones. Keith is predeceased by his treasured wife, Crystal Merjanian, his father, Paul Edward Merjanian, mother Marcia Jean Merjanian and his three sisters, Becky, Debbie and Cheryl Merjanian.
Keith was a man who lived his life with purpose and passion. He was a no-nonsense individual, yet deeply loving and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His favorite saying, "You gotta do what you gotta do, to do what you wanna do", encapsulates his resilient and determined spirit.
A man of simple tastes, Keith loved surfing, meditation, live blues and rock and roll music, or becoming engrossed in a metaphysical book. Locally, he loved spending time at 'Crystal's on the Square' and his personal "perch". His favorite vacation spot was Fiji, and the color that best represented him was midnight blue.
Keith proudly served his country in Vietnam with two tours as a combat special forces medic. His spirit of life and caring service's extended to co-founding the Dekalb Parks and Rec Special Olympics, which he ran for several years. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through his successful management of 'Crystal's on the Square Bar' in the years after losing his wife.
Keith had a special place in his heart for the Veterans Association and worked tirelessly to support their cause. His legacy of love, generosity, and service will continue to inspire and influence those who knew him.
Keith's passing left a void that can never be filled. His friends and family will forever feel the absence of this truly great loving and generous soul. He often reminded those around him to "Be here now", a lesson that will resonate with those who loved him. In Keith's memory, let us all strive to make the world a better place, just as he did and always will. And will always be here with us in spirit watching over each and every heart he touched and loved.
