Keith's obituary

Keith Eugene Elmquist Jr., passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 57. A lifelong resident of Minnesota, Keith was born in Saint Paul, MN and spent his life in and around the Saint Paul area, where his bold spirit and remarkable skills touched the lives of many.

Keith graduated from South St. Paul High School and went on to become a true jack of all trades. He worked in a variety of fields over the years—from installing pools, to painting semi-trucks, to working in the upholstery industry alongside his brother.

He was endlessly curious and self-taught in many areas—earning certifications in scuba diving and skydiving, learning how to fly planes, and becoming a skilled mechanic through his own dedication and hands-on experience. Keith could fix almost anything and was always eager to lend a hand.

Keith had an adventurous heart and loved the open road. Whether it was riding his Harley or taking spontaneous road trips, he found joy in the journey and freedom in the ride. He lived life on his own terms—fearless, curious, and full of grit.

He is survived by his children, Julia Elmquist and Keith Eugene Elmquist III; his brother, Christopher Elmquist; and his mother, Barbara Hamer. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jodi Elmquist, and his father, Keith Eugene Elmquist Sr.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on June 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 200 Plato Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55107. Friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who truly lived wide open.

Keith will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, boundless talents, and the love he gave so freely.
