Keith's obituary

Keith Blankenship, age 67, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital on March 12, 2025. Born December 27, 1957, Keith was a lifelong resident of the Middletown area, making his home on Oxford State Road for the past several decades.

Keith graduated from Preble Shawnee High School, Class of 1976, and furthered his education at Montgomery County JVS, specializing in Mechanics. He was known by everyone as a highly skilled tradesman and mechanic who could fix and repair nearly anything. Keith also honed his mechanical skills working alongside his father, Donald Blankenship, at Blank's Auto Parts in Middletown, OH for many years.

For over 20 years, Keith dedicated his professional life to remodeling and construction work for Coldwell Banker Oyer Middletown, building a reputation for skillful workmanship and being able to fix anything and everything that ever needed fixing in a home. Prior to this, he proudly served his community as a member of the West Alexandria Fire Department.

Keith had several passions, but his love of music, playing guitar, and singing were right there at the very top. He shared his talents generously, performing regularly at numerous churches throughout Middletown, Cincinnati, and Dayton. Some of his fondest memories involved gathering with friends and creating music together. In his younger years, Keith frequently attended First Brethren Church in West Alexandria, and later attended several other local churches, sharing his warmth, kindness, and music.

Keith's greatest joy in life was his beloved dog, Hailey, who held a special place in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Blankenship. Keith is survived by his loving mother, Janice Dotson; his son, Michael Blankenship; and his siblings, Kenneth Blankenship, Sharon Blankenship, Daniel Blankenship, and Bryan Blankenship, his most cherished friend Denise Ward Shepard, along with numerous other amazing friends and extended family members who will deeply miss him.

To honor Keith's life, and in lieu of a funeral, the family will hold a Celebration of Life where all family and friends are warmly invited to join. The Celebration will be held at First Brethren Church of Gratis on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
