Kaymen's obituary
Kaymen Alexandra Dominguez
Kaymen Alexandra Dominguez, passed away from a tragic vehicle accident while returning home from a family vacation to Bridgeport CA, on September 2, 2024, Kaymen was born on April 10, 2003 in San Diego, CA. to Jay Dominguez and ex wife Jennifer Shanko, later adopted by Jay’s wife Susan Dominguez.
Kaymen grew up in multiple areas due to her parents being in the Military. Jay was in the Marine Corps and Jenn in the Navy. She was born at Balboa Hospital in San Diego and spent her first few years between San Diego and Santa Paula where grandparents lived. Jay didn't get to meet her until she was already 3 months old due to being deployed in Iraq. But when he finally did she was the light of his whole world.
Kaymen struggled a bit through her teen years, not really knowing her place in life yet. Going from a Catholic school through elementary to Santa Paula high School was a bit rough for her. Most of her elementary friends didn't follow in the same footsteps, so she had to make all new friends, which wasn't easy. Kaymen was always shy and didn't really blossom out of her shell till after high school, which Covid made even more difficult. But she had so much family and love that she got through it all.
When Kaymen was 11, her dad rekindled a love from his teen years with Susan. She had two daughters of her own, Samantha and Kayelynn. They bonded quite fast and having those two girls filled her life with joy and happiness. Having that new and loving family dynamic really helped bring her out of her shell.
But the real hero of Kaymen’s life was her Papa, Richard Dominguez. Her bond with her Papa was unmatched. He instilled an amazing sense of values and morality in her that really shaped a lot of her personality. She and her brother were his whole world and he never stopped showing that to them.
Kaymen’s other love in her life was her boyfriend Jake. They were each other's whole world. They spent more of their days together than apart. He was her first and her last kiss. Susan and Jay will always be grateful for the love he showed her and the happiness they shared. During these years Kaymen found the direction she wanted to take in life, becoming a paraeducator, going back to school to finish her bachelors in teaching, and starting her little crocheting business. Sadly it was all cut short.
Kaymen is survived by her Father and Mother, Jay and Susan Dominguez. Also survived by siblings, Samantha Rieder and Colin Dominguez. Grandparents, Michele Ming, Dick and Tania Myers, and Ken Tallent. Great Grandmother, Linda Dominguez and Ray Ming. God Parents, Fred and Sylvia Castro. As well as countless family and friends. She is preceded in death by her Grandfather, Richard Dominguez. Kaymen left this world with her best friend and youngest sister Kayelynn “Alex” Rieder.
