Kayla's obituary

Kayla Ann Robison-McEntee was born to Rick and Sheila McEntee in Wichita, Ks on June 20, 1986 at a whopping one pound, twelve ounces & twelve and half inches long. Raised and educated in Burr Oak, Ks where she met Shirley McMains and Barb Mizner who not only taught her through school but also became friends and mentors throughout her life. After graduating from White Rock in May of 2005 she moved to Topeka, Ks to attend the School of Braille. After completing her program there she moved to Beloit, Ks where she met the love of her life Adam Burress. They moved to Topeka, Ks in 2007 where they started their family. Daughter, Amy Lynn was born January 30, 2008. Son Ryan Lee was born February 12, 2010. They moved their family to the Kansas City area in 2015 where they have stayed since. Kayla found out she had Acute Myeloid Leukemia in November of 2019. She fought the battle against cancer with her mom by her side, chemo and the love and support of her family. In December 2020 the leukemia had come back. This time she would fight the cancer with the stem cell transplant and cells of her sister Stephanie. Kayla was coming up on the one year mark post transplant when she found out she had Covid with pneumonia. The effects of that on her lungs along with the battle against the AML was just too much for her exhausted body to handle. Kayla has fought so hard her entire life and none of it held her back from being a loving spouse, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. We are all so proud of her and her fight. Kayla gained her wings on February 10, 2022 at 10:37 pm.
