Kayla would, every now and then, come with my friends and I before practice for Mariners. She would always be so excited for our shows to come happen, asking when they were and would occasionally watch us at practice. She would be so supportive of all of us in choir. That’s what we appreciated. Performing and leaving it all on stage and hearing the cheers and claps from the crowd, and I could imagine Kayla’s bright smile from the audience. Kayla wanted to be a Mariner, and I was so excited for her to be in the group with me. Prior to our 2025 Los Alamitos Competition we (Mariners and Showtime) received the news that Kayla passed away. And my friends and I made an agreement that besides leaving it all on stage and 100% trying our best, we would also win this for Kayla. And sure enough, Mariners and Showtime both won 2nd place, with Mariners winning best music in our division. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of Kayla. I miss everything about her - her compassion to be kind, her supportiveness, her silliness. I remember we were at Starbucks and I had turned my back and the next thing I knew Kayla was drinking my drink and we thought it was the funniest thing ever. If I could I would share my drink with her every single day. I kiss you Kayla. 💓

Our hearts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Kayla was a wonderful friend to Gabriella (Gabby), and her loss has left a profound impact on her. Kayla meant so much to Gabby—both on and off the softball field—and their friendship was something truly special.
Please accept our sincerest condolences. We are truly sorry that we are unable to attend the celebration of life ceremony as we are out of town for spring break, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. May you find comfort in the love and support that surrounds you, and may Kayla’s beautiful spirit continue to live on in all who knew her.

I knew Kayla from OCSA and we still talked constantly on Instagram since we both no longer attended the same school, she was always a light in my life, we shared many laughs and she was someone who always brought joy to me and many others always making sure to be kind to everyone. I love her so much and I wish I could have told her things would get better. I was so sad to hear of her passing and will miss her forever and am sending lots of prayers and love to her family and anyone who knew her.

I’ll never forget how much it meant when she supported my son at his football games and joined him for homecoming. Her warmth and spirit will always be remembered.
