Background
Kayla Marie Slusser, 25, of Bettendorf, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Genesis -East Medical Center in Davenport. Kayla was born on June 24, 1998, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Tina Slusser and Troy Slusser.
Kayla had a sweet, "happy-go-lucky" spirit and was always smiling. From a young age, Kayla had a playful, mischievous personality and loved to laugh. She had a heart full of compassion for others especially the children in her life. Her kindness and genuine concern for others touched the lives of all who knew her. Kayla loved being an affectionate and fun mom to her son, Tyler who was her pride and joy. Kayla loved animals and being outdoors. She enjoyed going camping and fishing. She was always listening to music and dancing. Most of all, she loved having fun with her family at family gatherings and frequent family game nights.
Survivors include her son, Tyler Hall; parents, Tina Slusser, and Troy Slusser; three sisters, Brooke, Maci, and Peyton Slusser, of Bettendorf; one brother, Zackary Slusser, maternal grandparents, Charlotte Henrichs (Loren Diffenbaugh), and Cindy (Jim) Moorehead; paternal grandfather, Troy Slusser Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kayla was preceded in death by her nephew, Maddox Rodriguez; cousins, Nickolas Cox, and John Paul Villegas; maternal grandfather, Jose Rodriguez; and several great grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00am on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
