Kayla's obituary
Kayla Dawn Jankovics was born in Calgary, AB on April 1, 1988. Relocated to Strathmore, AB at age 6, Kayla was raised by her parents Jason and Tracey Regehr.
Growing up, Kayla was involved in many different sports and clubs. She was the first female football player at Strathmore High School, as well as participating in cheerleading, track and field, and drama. She was also actively involved in her community and was awarded as a volunteer youth leader.
In her young adult years, Kayla moved back to Calgary and attended Mount Royal University where she received her Registered Nursing degree. She went on to work as a nurse with AHS and particularly had a passion for working with dementia patients and their families.
In 2015, Kayla gave birth to her son Odin with co-parent Kyle McDowell. Kayla was a loving and spirited mom. She enjoyed taking her son on many of life’s adventures such as camping, hiking, biking and more.
Kayla was a proudly spiritual person and explored many facets, specifically through her aboriginal heritage.
