Kayla's obituary
We remember with deep affection and warmth, Kayla "Memaw" Hester who passed away on May 3, 2025. Born on December 12, 1953, she was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and love throughout her life. Known affectionately by almost everyone as Memaw, she was a woman of extraordinary character and heart.
Memaw is lovingly remembered by her dear spouse, Kim Jamison, her devoted daughter, Missy Rodriguez and son-in-law Johnny Rodriguez. She lives on in the hearts of her cherished grandchildren, Zach Rodriguez and Tyy Warren. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Mazie Sauer, and her beloved grandson, John Isaiah Rodriguez.
Memaw's life work and service extended beyond her family as a volunteer at the local Food Pantry. She was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and had a love for a variety of music, including The Mamas and the Papas, George Strait, and Reba McEntire. Her favorite books and movies included 'Two from Galilee', 'The Thorn Birds', and 'Gone with the Wind'. She also treasured her time camping, playing Uno, and even mowing the grass. Memaw's favorite vacation spot was the beach, further demonstrating her love for nature's beauty.
Among her causes, Memaw was especially passionate about supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Her favourite color was blue, perhaps reflecting her serene and gentle personality. Her life philosophy was simple yet profound - Forgive and Forget. She was a woman who treated everyone she met with kindness and compassion, creating a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
The Celebration of Life for Kayla will be held on May 25, 2025, at 12:00 pm -3:00pm at 1401 Co Rd 336, Lexington,Tx 78947. We honor Memaw's memory by living out the values she upheld - of treating others with kindness, caring, and love. For in her words and deeds, Memaw demonstrated what it truly means to be selfless and generous. May her soul rest in peace.
