Kayelynn's obituary

Kayelynn Brook “Alex” Rieder

Kayelynn Brook Rieder, known to her friends as Alex, 15, passed away from a tragic vehicle accident while returning home from a family vacation to Bridgeport CA, on September 2, 2024. Kaye/Alex was born October 30, 2008 in Ventura CA, to Susan Dominguez and Dylan Rieder.

Kaye/Alex grew up in Santa Paula CA, and from the very beginning she was the light that shined bright everywhere she went. She could command a room and bring it together with laughter and fun, and she loved to play pretend with anyone who would follow along. She was caring and attentive to all the younger children, in and out of the family. She loved to cook and bake, especially in her Nans Kitchen.

Kaye/Alex was currently a Junior at Santa Paula High School where she was publicist for the High School Theater Team, a title she proudly held. She loved being on stage and could play any character no matter the script handed to her. She recently played the Wicked Witch of the West in her High School Musical “Wizard Of Oz” where she put on an extraordinary performance, even though being the villain isn't who she was in real life. She loved to sing every chance she could get and loved musicals. Her favorite musical was Hamilton and she was planning to finally see it in Hollywood with her theater team next month.

Her favorite places were the mountains of Bridgeport, CA where she had been visiting every year since she was born. Fishing on the twin lakes, rafting down Robinson Creek with her siblings, taking nature walks, and making lasting memories. She loved long summer swims with her family in her Nans pool, sitting at the kitchen counter doing homework while telling her mom about her day, and helping her with dinner. She loved talking in funny accents and singing with her dad. And she loved spending time with her best friends, whether it was together or online. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader, always complimenting people on their outfits, or their hair/make up, she always made you feel good about yourself and lift your spirits, just with a smile and a compliment, that was her super power and she will be missed beyond measure.

Kaye/Alex is survived by her Mother and Stepfather, Susan and Jay Dominguez, Father and Stepmother, Dylan and Janelle Rieder. Also survived by siblings, Samantha Rieder, Colin Dominguez, Winter Baker, and Branch Rieder. Grandparents, Dick and Tania Myers, Crickett and Kevin Stenshol, Ken Tallent, Steve and Caroline Rieder, and Michelle Ming. Great-grandmas Nancy Brogan, Donna Stepp, Diane Wilson, and Linda Dominguez. Aunt and Uncle, Stevi and Ryan Dunehuew. Cousins Emma and Paige, Uncle Ricky Myers, Cousins Drew, Adam, and Jaxson, Uncle Josh Myers and Aunt Robbee Williams, as well as countless family and friends. Kaye/Alex left this world with her sister and best friend Kaymen Dominguez.
