How you can help
Kay passed away after battling GIST cancer for 5 years. This cancer is a rare form of stomach cancer with very little efforts directed at research for a cure. One of her last wishes was that her grandson, Alex, help find a better treatment or cure for GIST as well as all cancers. He is a senior at UT Austin with 1 semester remaining before graduation. He will then begin medical school. He is very dedicated to his education and research. He currently has a 3.8 GPA and works as a Biology Teachers Assistant assisting in the education of other students. My Mom was extremely proud of Alex and the man he has become.
