Kay Nayleen Crawford, age 77, of Balch Springs, Texas, passed away September 21, 2023 at her residence. She was born August 21, 1946, in Salina, Kansas to Wesley Gustafson and Elizabeth (Philips) Gustafson, who preceded her in death.

Kay retired from the University of Texas Southwestern and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesquite.

She loved spending time with family, listening to music, singing, reading, gardening, fishing, arts and crafts, and traveling. She found blessings in visiting friends and helping anyone she could.

Kay was caring, thoughtful and kind. She was a terrific mother, peacemaker, strong, loving, supportive, selfless, and sacrificing for the wants and needs of her children.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two children, Mark Crawford and Michelle Crawford; one brother, Phil Gustafson and wife Patty; one sister, Sally Nelson; three grandchildren, Brittany Anderson and husband James, Matthew Crawford and Ryan Crawford; one great-grandchild, Nova Anderson; and a dear family friend, Sammy Moshreki, as well as various other extensions of family and close friends.
