Katy's obituary
Katy Jo Collins fell asleep in death on Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was 86 years old. Katy is survived by her son, Jeremy and wife Jennifer, of Waco; grandson, Wyatt, of Waco; and many spiritual sons and daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jim; her oldest son, Jody; her parents, Joe and Ethel White; and siblings Randy White and Jimmy White.
Katy was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 25, 1939. Katy got baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 29, 1950. She married James “Jim” Collins on September 20, 1959 in Arkansas. Together she and Jim served as pioneers there until they received their first assignment in the circuit work in Colorado. They served there for about 2 years until their first son, Jody, was born in 1963. Soon after they moved to Temple, Texas then to Waco and finally ended up in the Fort Worth metroplex. In 1974 their second son, Jeremy, was born.
Katy dedicated her life to helping others learn about the Bible and its wonderful hope for the future. Throughout her lifetime she zealously taught Bible truths to interested ones, many of whom became her beloved spiritual children. She lovingly supported Jim in all of his theocratic assignments over the years and she didn’t complain about the sacrifices they made in order to put Jehovah first in their lives.
Katy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a kind- hearted soul who was always cheerful and had a huge smile to give wherever she went. She doted on her grandson and spoke about Jehovah at every opportunity.
Katy will be remembered for her strong faith, her big heart and her humble disposition. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her many decades of loyal service to Jehovah will not be forgotten. While she rests peacefully in God’s memory, we look forward to the joyous day when we will welcome her back to life as a vibrant young woman in the new world.
