I lived across the street from Katrina for a couple of years when we were kids, and she was pure joy. She always felt like a cross between Pippi Longstocking and a pirate; wild, fearless, mischievous, and endlessly fun in the very best way. Many adventures with her and her brother Ron in those days.

I’ve carried those memories with me for a long time, and it makes me deeply sad that she passed away before I ever had the chance to reach out. I hope she knew how unforgettable she was.
