I knew Katie from school, a lot of my friends were friends with her, and I always found her to be so sweet. I really got to know her at Matt's Pizza, where she worked. I danced at the studio right next door, and I would always be in and out of Matt's Pizza, and Katie would always refill my water bottles and exchange a quick word.
Where I really got to see her truly be one of the brightest souls the world had to know was when the younger kids would walk into the pizza place. I was close with them because I danced with them, but she was close to them even though she worked next door and filled up their water bottles. What a lot of people don't know is how much Katie really meant to these kids. She was always smiling, joking around with them, making them laugh, talking to them, listened to them rant about something dance related, tried to learn dance combinations they taught her as she was behind the counter. She wasn't just the "cashier from next door." She was a friend to all of them. Though I am away at school right now, I know how absolutely devastated all of them are. They lost someone who they saw as a big sister, as part of our dance family. Filling up waters, getting pizza, even going to dance will definitely not be the same for any of them. We all admired Katie so much, and are going to miss her beyond belief. MFDUSA loves you, Katie! Rest easy.
May she forever Rest In Peace.
she’ll forever be watching over her family and friends

Doreen and family, there are no words that could convey how sorry we are about Katie. She was such a sweetheart and always had a smile for me in the high school hallways. You are in my heart and always in my prayers. Rest In Peace beautiful girl.
