To the family, I am truly blessed and grateful that I got to know your mother, sister, aunt and loved one. She was truly a great friend of mine and I loved her so much. I really wished we had reconnected. May my dear beautiful friend Rest in Peace.

I first met Kathy when she just showed up at my house one day, with her niece Lisa, in NC. She was looking for my brother who lived across the street from me. I thought she was funny, smart, and beautiful. Little did I know that day, she would impact my life forever! She eventually moved to my brother’s house and we went everywhere and did everything together. She was the sister I never had. My mother got her a job and they worked together for a few years. Then my nephew Dustin was born and he has been the light of my life. We survived hurricane Hugo together in 1989 with damage to both our homes and no power for 3 weeks. We went to a restaurant that had power several times a day to heat Dusty’s bottle. He was 5 months old at the time. The manager of the restaurant was a friend and she quickly grew to love Kathy too! Robert and Kathy didn’t work out in the long run but my love for her never changed and we stayed in touch and saw each other a few times a year. I am praying for her children Dustin, Haley, and Taner and all her family. May God comfort you and give you peace and understanding. RIP Kathy. I love you!
