It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Jane Orthwein, on December 17, 2025. Born on September 15, 1951, Kathy will be remembered as fun-loving, witty, and spiritual. 

In spite of her personal trials, Kathy's warm spirit never dimmed. Her ability to listen and provide insight touched all who knew her.

Her absence will be deeply felt by her friends and family and the many other lives she blessed with her presence.

Kathy was preceded in death by her soulmate and loving husband, Steve Orthwein. He welcomed her to Heaven with open arms, and they are dancing and laughing while watching over us all. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in her name. 

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer at 2700 Warren Circle Irving, TX 75062 on January 17th, 2026 at 12:00 noon.
