BATAVIA – Kathleen McCoy Leone passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at age 89.

Her parents, Byron Mills Barbeau and Kathleen Ashburn Barbeau, rejoiced on December 15, 1936 when Kathy joined her older brother, James Byron Barbeau, to complete their family.

Kathy’s parents taught her to both connect deeply with her hometown of Batavia and explore the world, as they both had experienced in their early lives.

Memorial events are private

A private burial service will be at Batavia Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to her family. On May 31st, Kathy’s family and friends will celebrate her life at her home with music, art and remembering her. Invitations are forthcoming. Donations in her memory may be made to the Village of Batavia for its annual Fun Fair for children.
