It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Lapine, a beacon of love, loyalty, and kindness, who left us on the 1st of November 2023. Born on June 24, 1951, Kathy's life was one filled with joy, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.

Kathy was the heart of her family, and her absence will echo strongly in the lives of her surviving relatives. She was the beloved wife of George Lapine, her husband since 2011, and a cherished mother to her daughter, Jennifer Rhoads, and her son, Jeffrey Abbott. Her love also extended to her step-daughters, Tammy Decker and Tracy Lapine, whom she treated as her own.

Alongside her immediate family, Kathy is survived by her sister, Debbie Hunt, her brother-in-law, Rick Hunt, and her niece, Erin Platzer. Also, carrying their grandmother's legacy are her grandchildren, Amber Moyer, William Abbott, and Ashton and Alana Abbott, who were the apple of her eye.

Predeceased by her father, Gerald Keahey and her mother, Evelyn Clardy, Kathy's memory will continue to live on through those she left behind. She was a woman whose personality shone as brightly as her favorite color, green, and her presence was as comforting as the beach, her favorite vacation spot.

Kathy's greatest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren. To them, and to all who had the privilege of knowing her, she was 'the mom.' This sentiment is a testament to the nurturing spirit that defined Kathy. Her kindness, love, and loyalty have profoundly marked those around her, and her legacy will endure. Kathy Lapine was not just a mom, but the mom, who spread love and kindness wherever she went.

We mourn the loss of Kathy, but we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led. May we remember her with the same warmth and affection with which she regarded everyone in her life. Rest in peace, Kathy. Your spirit will forever echo in the hearts of everyone you touched.
