Kathy Ann Kunisch (Shaner), 62, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Batavia, New York. Born on August 7, 1962, in Rochester, New York, Kathy spent her life rooted in the communities of Western New York, most recently residing in Wellsville.

Kathy was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love and care shaped the lives of those closest to her. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Jennifer Ramirez, Melissa Kunisch, and Nicholas Kunisch. Her legacy continues through her seven cherished grandchildren—Makayla Ramirez, Jayden Ramirez, Conor Ramirez, Everleigh Koester, Emmie Koester, Eliyanah Koester, and Rayner Koester—each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her parents, Donald and Marian Shaner of Bolivar, New York; and her sister, Kelly Shaner. Kathy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Keith and Kirt Shaner.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for family to honor Kathy’s memory.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
