I just heard about Kathy from Richard Ripley on a recent trip of his to Reno. I was shocked and saddened to hear as I felt she was too young for this to happen. I still remember taking Kathy and Kay Belaustegui to and from Salt Lake to school. George, Sue and I send our condolences. When I was chairman of the State Board of Health, I always felt the small rural hospital in Battle Mountain was in great hands with Kathy at the helm.

Kathy Ancho became one of my dearest friends over the 6 years I knew her. She was without a doubt the best CEO of a hospital I have ever worked with and was a compassionate lady who cared for patients first , staff second and the good of the hospital third.
She was elegant and true to herself and her family many of whom I have also gotten to know. She will be greatly missed by all of us but is now safe in heaven living with Jesus whom she fully accepted in her faith.
It was my great privilege to look after her over the last 5 years and again we will all miss her. My love goes out the family and my dear friends George, Jani and Casey, whom I see every month when I visit Battle Mountain.
With love and blessings to all of her wonderful family.

She brought goodness, light, laughter, and love into my life. I’ll remember her with a joyful heart for the rest of my life. What a privilege to have worked with her and, best of all, to have had her as my friend.

George and family. Kathy and George hold a place I. Our hearts for their ever welcoming to their home. David and I enjoyed many stories and history lessons at the basement bar. Great Picons. Kathy is a pillar of BM and a friendly face to all. God bless her and welcome her. David and Kris Itza

Kathy and my sister Carole Hartoch Flaxman shared a bond that started at St. Mary's in boarding school and lasted a lifetime until my sister's death in 2015. I loved the stories of the boarders and the Battle MT girls. Once in a while I got to tag along to a get together of these great women. I was in awe of them.
I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Kathy. I know she and Carole are up to mischief again. I can hear them both laughing.
My condolences to George and all the family. Kathy will be missed. She was a fine woman and a great role model.

Kathy was an amazing woman. I will always remember how welcome she made me feel whenever I was able to attend a family gathering. I admired the way she loved her family so fiercely and when I was younger remember thinking that’s how I wanted to be to my kids and grandkids one day! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. I know what a tremendous loss this is for you all. Now she’s in the hands of our loving God in a beautiful place where there is no sickness or pain 🙏✝️
