Kathryn's obituary
Peacefully in her sleep at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario. Born in Cottam, Ontario, April 12, 1935, Kathryn is survived by her son David (Milena) granddaughters Meredith and Isobel, her sister Jacqueline Ladd, niece Loren Thomson and brother Ronald McLeod, and nephews John and Barry Snyder and Jeffrey, Jason and James Woodiwiss. Predeceased by her husband Doug and daughter Ann (Alden).
Growing up in a rural Ontario Town, Kathryn learned the simple things were important and carried those lessons throughout her life. Moving to Toronto in 1968 was a big change for a small town girl, and she quickly took to the new lifestyle, over the years learning to enjoy the finer things in life, including travel, live theatre, fine dining and the occasional glass of wine.
A sharp wit, cutting sense of humour, and optimism for tomorrow carried her confidently through her many years as an independent and strong woman.
Many thanks to the countless doctors, nurses and medical professionals that helped her in her final days. The staff at the Pearl and Pine Retirement Residence and The Carpenter Hospice in Burlington meant so much to her.
At Kathryn’s wishes, no service will be held and she will be interred at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery with Doug and Ann.
