Kitty's obituary
Kathryn Ann Liljeback (Kitty), 88, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021. She was born in Mount Kisco, New York. Kitty was predeceased by her husband, Warren Liljeback who she married in 1982. She was the devoted stepmother to Kenneth Liljeback (April) and Marilyn Johnston (Hugh). Kitty also left behind her brother, Robert Hall (Ursula) and her nephew, Robert Anthony Hall. Kitty was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren; Pamela Miller (David), Alicia Evans (Ken), Bryan Johnston, Eric Liljeback (Kate), and Paul Liljeback. She leaves behind seven great grandchildren who adored spending time with her; Laurie, Jacob, and Ella Miller, Riley and Logan Evans, Zoe Johnston, and Mason Liljeback.
Born in Mount Kisco New York, Kitty pursued her passion for teaching. The majority of her career was spent in the Lakeland School District teaching kindergarten. Throughout her life, Kitty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and was a devout Catholic. Kitty is fondly remembered for her kind heart, humor, and loving spirit. She could light up a room with her smile, and her kindness and personality were like no other. She found great joy in being with the ones she loved and enriched the lives of everyone she knew. The world was truly a more wonderful place with her in it.
Kitty's family would like to give special thanks to her friends and the staff at Maplewood at Newtown who provided her with a loving and supportive community that she was proud to call home. Her family would also like to thank Sharon Dornfeld and the staff at Regional Hospice who were by Kitty's side ensuring that her final days were graced with love and compassion.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2 Green Street, Mount Kisco, New York at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
