Kathleen Louise Sylvia (O’Brien), passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in Plymouth after a long illness. She was 63 years old.

Kathy, as she was known by friends and family, was born on August 23, 1960 to the late Eugene D. O’Brien and Louise G. O’Brien, in Taunton, MA where she spent the first 16 years of her life before moving to Falmouth, MA, the place she fondly thought of as home.

In her younger years, Kathleen worked as a line cook in several Falmouth Restaurants and delivered newspapers to residents in several nursing homes in Falmouth in the 1980’s. She spent the last few years of her life at Plymouth Rehab and Nursing home as well as a long term care facility in Watertown, MA.

Kathy enjoyed being outside, feeding the birds and bunnies, had a passion for cats, going shopping with friends and family, puzzles, and crocheting beautiful blankets and other items for her loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Rachel A. Ecker and her husband, Joshua Ecker, Sr., of Mashpee, MA; and Angel H. Ecker and her fiancé, Craig Hayes of Alfred Station, NY; her grandchildren Joshua Ecker, Jr. and his fiancé, Kayla Burnell, of Mashpee, MA; and Julie A. Ecker, of Mashpee, MA; her sister Elizabeth Motta and her husband, Glenn Motta of Brooksville, Fl; and her dear friend, Sylvester Gagliardi, of Westbrook, CT.

A celebration of Kathys life will be held at a later date with immediate family.
