Kathleen's obituary
Kathleen Reed
May 17, 1952 – March 25, 2026
Kathleen Reed was truly one of a kind. The youngest of ten, she carried a strength and spirit that couldn’t be matched. She was resilient, magnetic, and full of love — the kind of woman who didn’t take no mess, but would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation.
She lit up every room she walked into. Her laughter was unforgettable, her presence comforting, and her love unmatched. Whether you knew her for years or just a moment, she left an impression that stayed with you.
For over 30 years, she proudly managed Shore Lanes Bowling Alley, where she became more than a manager — she became family to so many.
She was a fighter, beating breast cancer with strength and grace. Above all, she was the sweetest and most generous soul, always putting others before herself.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Franklin Romero; her daughters, Melanie Johnson and Melissa Alston; her grandchildren, Robyn Reed, Rayvon Reed, Rokayla Reed, La’Treece Watson, and Lahyana Gethers; and her great-grandchildren, Ayvah Avent, King Jones, Ahmaad Johnson, Harley Reed, Tyree Smith Jr., Jyrnee Adams, Preston Gethers Jr., Legynd Murry, Lyrique Murry, Pearson Gethers, and Raylee Reed.
Her love, her strength, and her spirit will live on through all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
