Kathleen "Kay" O'Shea Paschke, 82, resident of Keego Harbor, Michigan passed away peacefully at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Florida on Sunday morning, February 23, 2025. Kay was predeceased by her parents John Cornelius O'Shea and Beulah Margaret Kenney O'Shea of Pontiac, her siblings Geraldine Higgins Fate, Vivian O'Shea Powell, Patrick O'Shea and Barbara O'Shea Saliba. She is survived by her sister Della O'Shea of Kittery Maine, brother-in-law Alfred Saliba, son Michael Paschke/daughter-in-law Kimberly Sonnenberg Paschke, granddaughers Emma and Morgan Paschke, son Jeffrey Paschke and numerous nieces and nephews. In her youth, Kay was athletic and engaged in various dance classes and gymnastic activities, continuing to roller skate and water ski well into adulthood. Her chosen occupation was nursing, first as a Licensed Practical Nurse then later obtaining her qualifications as a Registered Nurse. For many years, she worked at a private pediatric practice, then in other specialties at various settings including St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac. She possessed a bright personality and a quick smile that gained her many acquaintances, but it was her generous, loving nature that formed the basis of her deep, lasting friendships. She loved playing euchre, baking pies and entertaining friends and family at her home on Sylvan Lake. Beginning in 2012, she wintered in Florida, in both Port Richey and Lakeland. She enjoyed the sun, beach, swimming pool and the opportunity to expand her growing number of late-in-life friendships. Kay had strong spiritual beliefs and a lifelong connection to St. Benedict Catholic Church, Waterford Twp where Kay's name will be included in the Prayers of the Faithful. Then, in late spring, family and friends will be invited to a Celebration of Life to honor Kay and share their remembrances. [location and date to be determined]
