Kathleen's obituary
Kathleen Ann Murray was born on September 24, 1952 in the Bronx, to Daniel and Rita Murray. She was raised in Glen Rock, Ridgewood, and Paramus, NJ where she eventually became the eldest of a blended group of eight siblings. Kathie was a wife to Doug Chapman, and a mother to two daughters - Jessica and Erin. She raised them with her signature charisma and wit, endearing them with such classics as “Pretend I taught you manners.” When the girls were in grade school, she brought home a stray dog, and later overruled the naming of this mutt, opting for Pathetic, instead of the girl’s first choice of Peppermint. She took her girls to many a dance class, and loved watching them dance in their annual recitals for nearly a decade.
Kathie was a sassy Irish lady, through and through. She loved being on, in, and near the water, and could often be found lounging in her pool, on her boat, or jetting around on her jet ski. Her love of music was immense - Bruce being her all time favorite. She dragged a happy Jessica and willing Erin to many a Bruce concert over the years. She was looking forward to moving to California to be near her two daughters and their families.
She passed on July 18, 2022, in Hewitt, NJ, with her husband and youngest sister by her side. She leaves her husband Doug, daughters Jessica and Erin, their husbands Gregg and Brian, and three grandchildren Brecken, Isla and Ryan behind, along with four sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
She will be forever loved and missed.
