Kathleen Ann Michalak of Parker, CO, gained her angel wings on February 13th, 2024 at the age of 70.

She passed away from a long battle of Colon Cancer while on hospice at Hampden Hills Post Acute Center in Aurora, CO.

She was born in Prairie View, IL on June 11th, 1953 to Gilbert W. Petersen and June L. (Scherer) Jones. She is now reunited with her parents along with her grandparents, Jacob and Lillian Scherer and ex-husband Richard Allen Joseph Michalak.

Her favorite things to do were spending time with family; growing her roses and peonies; sewing and shopping.

Kathleen left behind her 3 children:

Rebecca Simmons (Curtis) of VA, grandson Jonathan Blocks & great-granddaughter Aurora; grandson Lee Blocks (Dani); 3 step-granddaughters- Courtney Caldwell with great-grandsons Theo & Wilder; CC Murphy (Alex) with great-grandsons, Christoper & Ivan & great-granddaughter Anastasiya; Ashley Simmons.

Richard Michalak II (Amy) of CO.

Megan Henry (Shane) of CO, grandson James and granddaughter Ashley.

She is also survived by 3 sisters: Marcia Knight, Kris Benson and Karen Foote and brother, Mark Jones & their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 19th at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.
