Kathy's obituary

Kathleen Diane Louie (Dockter) of Fremont CA, aged 57, passed away late Wednesday evening October 13th, 2021 following a battle with cancer. She was born on September 9, 1964 in Santa Maria, CA to Russell L. Dockter and Marie E. Dockter-Poncho (Hansen). Her family later relocated to Fremont when Kathleen was young and were members of Holy Spirit Church. She was a 1982 graduate of Washington High School and volunteered with the Candy Stripers at Washington Hospital where she was recognized for her service hours. In August 1984, she married Geoffrey Louie, also of Fremont CA, where they continued to live and raise their four daughters who all carried on in their mother’s legacy and attended Washington High School. While raising her daughters, Kathy participated in PTA where she volunteered at Parkmont Elementary’s Halloween Carnival and always provided baked goods for class parties, Halloween carnival cake walks, and bake sales. Kathy was known for hosting parties for friends and family during holidays and for her skills in cake decorating that made her daughters’ childhood birthdays special. She volunteered with Furry Friends Rescue and served as a foster parent for several dogs.
She is preceded in death by her father, Russell. She is survived by her mother, Marie (Tony) who resides in New Mexico; sisters Pamella Caldeira (Robert) of Santa Cruz and Michelle Pope of Fremont; daughters Ashlie Louie Sochor (David) of New Castle PA, Kimberly Morrison (Matthew) of Lathrop CA, Natalie Louie (fiance J. Nathaniel Zaragoza) of Nipomo CA, and Stacy Louie of San Diego CA; Grandchildren Candace, Bennett, Lucy, Olivia, Savannah, and Elliott; nieces Sarah Pope, Samantha Pope, Christina Caldeira, Alessandra Johnson, and nephew Alexander Pope and their families.
Kathy will be laid to rest in Rupert, ID with her family. Due to her wishes, the family has chosen to celebrate her life privately, and will hold a Memorial service in 2022.
