Kathleen's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen "Kathy" Landers.
Born on November 11, 1954, Kathleen was a remarkable woman whose devotion and unconditional love for her family will forever be her legacy. She peacefully departed this life on September 18, 2025.
Known affectionately as Kath to some, she was an avid reader and a lover of literature. Kathleen graduated from Bridgewater State University with a degree in English Literature and went on to fulfill her dream of working in the public library system.
She embraced life with a quiet, intelligent demeanor, a sharp wit, and a soft spot for good cooking and ice tea. Her eclectic tastes were evident in her love for classic British authors, impressionist art, and the music of bands from The Beatles to Queen and most hits from the '60s and '70s.
Kathleen's hobbies included knitting, crocheting and origami, all activities at which she excelled. She loved walking and trivia games, and her favorite places to visit were Ireland and Hawaii. Hailing from Massachusetts she still enjoyed a good Red Sox game and a lobster roll and after relocating to Southern California she could also tolerate a Dodger game and a decent taco.
She found joy in watching PBS documentaries and classic movies (especially old Sherlock Holmes), and was a parishioner of Saint Judes Catholic church in West Lake Village. She lived by example, showing her family and two nieces how to be loving, supportive and fun.
Kathleen is survived by her brother Timothy Landers, her mother Adeline Ricci, her nieces Shaelen and Micaella Landers, her sister-in-law Patrice Bartlett, her cousins Beverly, Nanette, Arty, and Paul Souza, and her Aunt Shirley Souza. She was predeceased by her father Edmund Landers, her grandmothers Francesca Souza, and grandfathers Manuel Souza and Charles Landers.
A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on November 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Chumash Park, Agoura Hills. Those who knew and loved her are invited to join in remembering her beautiful self and honoring her memory.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving a void that can never be filled. Her legacy of family devotion and unconditional love and Portuguese cooking will forever live on.
