Kathleen's obituary

The family of Kathleen Kuehn of Highlands Ranch, Colorado is saddened to announce her passing on July 25, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John "Jack" Stevens, with whom she spent a lifetime as friends and 21 years married, daughter Lenore (Dana) Maxwell, grandchildren Lukas (Amy) and Nikolaus (Julia) Schroeder, and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Kuehn, and daughter, Laura Richard.

Kathie was born in 1934 to Clarence and Beatrice Ingram in Alvarado, Indiana. She grew up among seven siblings in Edon, Ohio, where she learned to pilot her uncle's small plane and earned her private pilot license. After completing studies at The Ohio State University, she moved to Wurzburg, Germany, where her husband Herb was serving in the Army's 10th Infantry Division Band. Upon returning to the United States, they moved to Evergreen Colorado. In Evergreen, Kathie raised her twin daughters and worked as an English teacher and librarian at Evergreen Senior High School. She regularly vacationed to seasonal homes in Lake City, Colorado and Lufkin Texas.

Kathie was a charter member of the Evergreen Lutheran Church of the Cross and librarian for Evergreen Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, traveling abroad, church choir, proper grammar, and spending time with her twin daughters, twin grandsons, and their families. Kathie was also known for her love of pets, including her Weimaraner Saint, skunk Breathless, half-bobcat Jupiter, and a handful of rescued Great Danes.

At Kathie‘s request, she will be inurned at the Ingram plot of the Edon Cemetery (Florence Twp, Ohio). No service will be held.
