Background
My mother, Kathleen Geeslin, battled inclusion body myositis for over 30 years. Once an extremely active individual, she gradually became fully dependent on a dedicated team of caregivers for all aspects of her daily life. Unfortunately, by the time promising treatments began clinical trials, her condition had progressed too far, making her ineligible to participate. This personal journey underscores the urgent need for research and support. By supporting the Myositis Foundation, we can help advance treatment options and provide hope to those affected by this debilitating disease, ensuring others have access to interventions at earlier stages.
