Kathleen's obituary
In 1976 she married James D’Agostino and they settled in Pelham to raise their family. Kathy was a force in the Pelham community, acting as treasurer of the Pelham Hockey Association for many years. She also served on the executive board of the Pelham Junior Skating Club and the school district PTA.
Kathy loved film, literature, museums, and music. She was fanatical about the Romantic-era poets—especially Lord Byron, John Keats and Percy Shelley. She had expert knowledge of ancient England, Rome and the Knights Templar. She favored her tea from Harrod’s, her cappuccinos from Starbucks and her wine from France. Kathy was charismatic, spontaneous and drew people close to her. She became a trusted confidant to many of her friends.
Her reliability was rivaled only by her courage and strength. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor, overcoming the disease in 1988 and 2012. In addition to loving and caring for her family, Kathy adored her dogs. First, Jeanette McDougal, her Scottish Terrier, and then Isabella, her Yorkie.
Kathy is survived by her mother Arline Hellwig, her mother-in-law Antoinette D’Agostino and her three sons and their spouses: Kris and Kristen, Chase and Tanya, and Tom and Julia, as well as five grandchildren: Shilo, Chase 2, Tessa, Henry and Pilot.
