Kathleen's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen "Katie" Cook, a beloved mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur, who left us on March 30, 2024; born on November 7, 1960, she lived a fruitful life filled with love, resilience, and determination.
Kathleen is survived by her sons Jared McEwan and Levon Cook, and her daughter Haley Cook. Her loving memory also lives on in her grandsons Max Hoffrogge, Isaiah and Devon McEwan, and granddaughters Sophia and Lyla McEwan, and Cameron Fortmeyer.
Kathleen graduated from Carson High School , Carson California in 1978, after which she embarked on a journey that led her to Oregon in 1986 brought about new beginnings and furthered her path to self-reliance and determination that led her to build a self-made business in 2001.
She had 3 children in 1982, 1985, and 1989. Married to Casey Cook in 1991, Kathleen was a loving and supportive partner.
Known for her fondness of homemade Ice cream, the music of The Who, Jethro Tull, and classic Saturday Night Live sketches, Kathleen added joy to many occasions. Her favorite movies, Raising Arizona and Airplane, always brought laughter to her home, while games of Scrabble and Clue brought her family closer. An avid gardener who enjoyed nature, Kathleen's love for the outdoors was unmistakable. She loved to stay active and was fond of jogging and aerobics. Purple, her favorite color, was often reflected in her vibrant garden.
Kathleen's spirit was best described as loving, caring, kind, loyal, and persistent. She believed in the lessons of diligence and self-reliance and always forged her own path. As a loving mother and grandmother and a hardworking entrepreneur, Kathleen's legacy of kindness and generosity will always be remembered.
Her loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life, her accomplishments, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
