Kathy's obituary
Kathleen J. Bausano, 1941 - 2023
Kathleen was born in San Francisco, California to Kenneth and Bernice McIsaac, the oldest of three daughters. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, James Bausano (Eagle Point, OR), sister Joan Colores and Joan’s husband Robert (San Ramon, CA), daughters Lynda Banks (Beaverton, OR) and Diane Banks (Allyn, WA), niece Kelly Jackson (Danville, CA), stepdaughter Kathryn Bausano (Salinas, CA), stepson James Bausano, Jr. and his wife Amy (Winter Park, CO). Kathleen also leaves behind four grandchildren, Rachel Juarez (Beaverton, OR), Monica Juarez (Lakeland, FL), Sarah Bausano (Denver, CO) and Megan Bausano (Golden, CO), as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Wahlstrom, and Nancy’s husband Robert.
Kathy was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduating in 1959 from Capuchino High School in San Bruno, CA. Later she, her first husband Gerald Banks, and their two daughters moved to Fresno, CA and then in 1972 to Seattle, WA. Years later, Kathy met her husband James (Jim) while working in the electronics industry. She retired from the electronics industry in the early 90’s and joined Jim in starting up a scuba diving travel company K&J Diving which took them on adventures to many tropical locations throughout the world. In 2002 Kathy and Jim moved to Kona, HI to pursue their passion for diving and enjoying the sunny tropical days. Kona is where Kathy was introduced to Hawaiian style quilting which became her new passion. In 2009 they moved to Eagle Point, OR to enjoy being closer to their family. They soon connected with the Ascension Lutheran Church family where Kathy served as Finance Treasurer and explored her creative side as part of the Quilters group, sewing many beautiful quilts for church members and local charities.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 675 Black Oak Drive, Medford OR. A private burial ceremony will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Kathy is greatly loved, and will be missed by all.
