Kathy, Kat's obituary
We lovingly remember Kathleen "Kathy, "Kat" Rocelle Browne Aguilar, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who passed away December 20, 2022.
Kathy began her life as "the little Browne gal" born into the career Army family of Colonel Mark L. Browne, Jr and his wife Virginia McAnelly Browne. Family joked that Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii was painted pink in her honor. She was the little sister of Bonnie Combs, Mark L. Browne lll, and Cynthia Browne Passmore. Between birth and middle school, Kathy would live and travel in Hawaii, Asia, Germany, Europe and Pennsylvania, before Colonel Browne retired to Weatherly Dr in Windcrest, San Antonio, TX in May 1978. Kat graduated from Roosevelt High School in May 1982 and received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcus, TX in December 1986. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She taught elementary school for 10 years in San Antonio and Pleasanton, TX and was a reading specialist and cheerleading coach at Pleasanton Jr High.
She married Edwin Earl Sellers in March 1990 and gave birth to their beloved son, Robert Earl Sellers in January 1994. She divorced Earl in 1999.
Kathy was the devoted wife of Victor Aguilar for over 20 years. Vic tirelessly helped her through the extended time of illness in her last days. She was a loving step mom to Dustin Aguilar, kind mom-in-law to Jasmine Hernandez Sellers and happy “Moma Kat" to her grandson Robert Marley Sellers born December 15, 2021.
Kathy’s life had many struggles but she was a very loving mother when she got the chance. She was known as “The cool mom.” Everyone loved her spirit, humor and stories. Kathy was known for making sure everyone’s needs were taken care of before hers. She went out of her way no matter the situation and had the biggest heart. For that, she will live on forever in our hearts.
Kathy's celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church Chapel, 319 E Mulberry Ave San Antonio, TX 78212 on February 25, 2023 at noon. She will always live in our hearts and never be forgotten. Always loved. Rest In Peace Dear One.
