Katherine Grace Irvin, age 24, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on December 12, 2021 in Gadsden. The family appreciates your respect for Katie’s wishes, and no visitation or service will be held.
Katie was preceded in death by her mother, Davina Nicholson Irvin of Tuscaloosa.
She is survived by her father, Jason Irvin; sister, Anna Kelly Irvin; grandparents, Joe and Ann Irvin; grandmother, Mae Nicholson; godparents, Matt and Lizabeth Irvin; godbrother, Jackson Irvin; godsister, Connor Beth Irvin; long-time boyfriend and love of her life, Cole Moman; close family friend, Debi Lewis; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; extended family members; very special friends, including Meri Hannah Kennemur and Dillan Montgomery; colleagues; and neighbors.
Katie was born June 30, 1997 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She attended Hillcrest High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama in 2019. Her dream job was saving babies, and that dream was realized when she earned her degree and became a registered nurse in the NICU at Northport Medical Center. Katie loved spending time outdoors - going to the beach with her family and friends, deep-sea fishing, and spending time at the river. She was deeply committed to her family and friends and enjoyed simply spending time with them. Like her mother, Katie was an avid reader. She was a light in the lives of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
Jason, Anna Kelly, Cole and Meri Hannah will privately celebrate Katie’s life at a future date in Dauphin Island, AL.
