Katherine's obituary
Katherine (Kathy) Hope Crocker suddenly passed away and left this world on July 24, 2023. She is now in the presence of her heavenly Father and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kathy was born on October 5, 1964, in Charleston, South Carolina. Though life was not always easy for her, she always made the best of all situations and came to truly live out Philippians 4:11-13.
Kathy spent many days living with their grandparents, along with her cousin, Bobbie Case, who was like a sister to her. Family was important to her and some of her fondest memories were centered around her mom, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loved her family tremendously.
On December 9, 1983, two lives changed forever. She met and fell in love with Gregory Wayne Crocker, and he fell madly in love with her. On March 30, 1984, these two lives became one. She then began her career as a Navy Wife and for the next 21 years, she kept the family together through numerous moves and deployments. On November 29, 1985, she became a mom to Jason Bryant Crocker and on March 27, 1988, she graduated to double duty when Amber Renee Crocker was born. She was a fantastic mom, loving and spoiling her children. In 2003, God moved her from Navy Wife to Pastor’s Wife and she would tell everyone that being a Navy Wife was much easier than being a Pastor’s wife. She loved the Lord and was a great witness for the gospel. Her joy was working with all the kids in the church. While she loved being called “Sweetie” and “Mom”, being called Nana by Connor always made her smile and beam with pride.
Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Gealton Herndon and Mary Elet Herndon, Her mother, Linda Pack.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Greg Crocker; Son, Jason (Shannon) Crocker, Daughter, Amber Crocker, grandson, Connor Poole; Father-in-law, Larry (Moni) Crocker, Sisters-in-law, Vicki Crocker, Audrey (Kyle) Sandlin, Brothers-in-law, Scott (Jada) Crocker, William (Tracy) Feltman, Brian Feltman. Along with numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday (August 3, 2023) at First Baptist Church Atlantic Beach (1050 Mayport Road).
