Katherine Marie Berki, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed peacefully in Hospice care on March 4, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 23, 1965, she relocated to the Sunshine State with her then-husband and their two children in 1992. She later married her longtime boyfriend, Lester Berki, in December of 1996 and gave birth to her third child (their first & only) in 2000. They were together until his passing in December 2023. 

A woman of simple tastes and a joyful spirit, Katherine was an endless source of warmth and laughter for all those whose lives she touched.

Katherine is survived by her beloved children, Amber (Derek) Egli of Illinois; James Clark (Georgia Harper) of Australia; and Leslie (Dallas) Taylor of Florida. She is also survived by her father, John Rech, Sr., her step-mother, Eleanor Russo, her brother, John Rech, Jr., six granddaughters (Molly, Ruby, Willow, Ivy, Lily, and Novah), and one grandson (Connor). She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Berki, and her mother, Estelle Cash.

Appreciated by many for her patient and welcoming presence, Katherine's legacy is one filled with laughter and a true love for the simple things in life — good coffee, friendly conversations, and reruns of some of her favorite TV Land shows. As we mourn her departure, we also celebrate the life she lived and the joy she spread to those around her. We will always remember her as a beautiful soul with a wonderful sense of humor.
