Kasi's obituary
Kasi Rochelle (Kolls) Thoele, 49, of Parachute, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, January, 16, 2022, after a long battle with the many effects of Multiple Sclerosis.
Kasi was born on October 26, 1972 to Nikki Rochelle (Prahl) Roberts and Jerry Carl Kolls in Burlington, Wisconsin.
After graduating from Clinton High School in 1990, in Clinton, WI, she moved to Colorado and fell in love with the state. Kasi began working at the State of Colorado, Parks and Wildlife as a dedicated and beloved employee for 20 years. Here, she met her lifelong friend, Perry Will. There are so many stories from her positions at the State, we hope you can share them.
Kasi's love of nature and animals was clear in and present in every aspect of her life. She visited Yellowstone often, went backpacking in Ely Minnesota, and went to northern Wisconsin to follow a pack of wolves.
As a child she loved all animals. Even her imaginary friends had a dog (Gramma Jones and her German Shepard). After moving to Colorado, Kasi devoted her life to rescuing and caring for the senior, disabled, and displaced animals, in particular, pugs. She was a committed and dedicated animal activist, a volunteer for Colorado Pug Rescue, and a hero many times over as she opened her home to hundreds of animals who would live out the last stretch of their lives with respect and in a loving home.
In 2017, Kasi met Barry Thoele, and they wed on July 17, 2021, in their backyard with a small intimate wedding, so fitting under a rainbow, and officiated by Perry Will. Although Barry and Kasi were married a short time, they were each other's soulmate.
Kasi was predeceased by her Grandparents Lucille Carroll, and William E Kolls and Janet W (Porep) Kolls. She is survived by her husband, Barry Thoele, her mother Nikki (Jeffrey) and her father Jerry, sisters Kelly and Kristin (Don), nieces Sarah (Dan), Matti (John), Sydney (Sam), and nephew Logan (Devan), mother-in-law Mary Thoele, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Barb and Chuck Austin, Bruce and Linda Thoele, Brian and Jan Thoele, and Brenda and Todd Green, and stepchildren Beth Thoele, Matt Thoele, Mark Thoele, and Mykaila Thoele.
The family would like to sincerely thank Kasi's amazing network of friends, co-workers, rescue friends, and her secret Petfinder group for the enormous amount of support, love, and help you gave openly and unconditionally!
