Karol's obituary
Karol Ann Williams (Fletcher) October 31, 1937 – June 22, 2025
Karol Ann Williams (née Fletcher), affectionately known as Mom and Grandma, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 22, 2025, at the age of 87.
Karol was born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on October 31, 1937, to the late Paul Fletcher and Ethel Katherine Daly Fletcher. She was the beloved sister of the late Frank Fletcher, Priscilla Fletcher, Jimmie Fletcher, and Mary Mayne. She was also preceded in death by her son Barry Williams, and nephews Larry Fletcher and Chris Fletcher.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sharyl Williams and Kathy Williams, who were the light of her life and her proudest accomplishments. Karol was a devoted grandmother to Drew Williams (Jessica), Lauren Fruit (Alex), Taylor Market (Annaliese), Blake Book (Tyler), Conner Market, Kyle Market, Nic Williams, and several great grandchildren— each of whom brought her endless joy, especially as she watched them grow and play sports. Karol also leaves behind her nephews Wayne Fletcher and Kevin Fletcher; nieces Lisa Freda, Paula Fletcher, Michele Schaefer, Laura Barry, and Colleen Cartmill; sister-in-law Pat Fletcher; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she held dear.
Full of life and laughter, Karol loved music, dancing, traveling, and food. Her sense of humor and playful spirit were unforgettable — she loved to laugh, play jokes, and make others smile. She was generous, kind, and deeply devoted to her family. Her love for animals, her warmth, and her ability to find joy in everyday moments made her a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew her. To her daughters and grandchildren, she was everything — a constant, loving presence whose sacrifices and strength will never be forgotten.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Karol will be laid to rest at St. Louis Cemetery.
