I was just thinking about you the other day, Karl.. I would drive by your place on Sundays with my son, Colt, to go visit my parents and I always wanted to introduce you to him. I never did because the thought "there will be a holiday when we're all together and I'll get to introduce y'all then" kept popping up. I really regret not stopping by and just knocking on that door. I miss you and how you always told it how it is.

Dad loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting when he got the chance, relaxing in his chair while watching TV and napping. We used to get so mad at him cause the minute he sat down he would fall asleep, and nobody else wanted to watch "Ice road truckers" or "Alaska goldrush" so we would attempt to change the channel only to be immediately shut down by dad who would miraculously be wide awake the moment you touched the remote.

Those were the things he enjoyed, but a lot of his free time was spent fixing cars or something that had broke around he house while he was working, he sacrificed the tiny amount of free time he had more times than not to make sure we were all safe and taken care of.

I miss him so much, and I would be lying if I said I'm not so afraid of going through the rest of my life without him. I dont feel like im ready, he had so much more to teach me and tell me. A life taken much too early, its true that only the good die young. The earth is a little less bright now.
Just the epitome of cool. Definitely could keep you laughing and had no filter. You never had to wonder what he was thinking.

Saw him out at a drilling rig one day. He didn’t see me standing behind him, I said there’s that no good #%%# that stole my wife, ____you Karl! He bowed up spun around, saw me for the first time in years and just started laughing. Shook my hand and tells his whole crew I was his nephew like he was proud of me. It made me feel great. He was a man among men.

Rest In Peace Uncle Karl, I love you.

Your nephew, Jake

Marilyn, Megan, Paige, words can’t describe, nor take away the loss you must feel. I love you guys so much and so very sorry for this loss of your husband and father. God be with all of you.
