Karl's obituary

Karl Beighley May 28, 1955 - July 7, 2022

Karl passed away after a two month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Wisconsin to Archie and Ruth Beighley. He married Cindy Earney in 1979. Together they had 3 daughters, Melissa (Tim) Kofoed (Kelton and Watson), Kaydee (Andy) Collins (Max, Owen, and Cruz), Elizabeth (Kevin) Bradt (Aylah and Stella). He is also survived by his brother Dan (Lyn) Beighley and his sister Nancy (John) Mayer.

Karl graduated from Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota, in 1978 with BS degrees in Elementary Education, Secondary Math, and Secondary Physics. He also received his Masters in Middle Level Education from University of Wisconsin Platteville.

Karl taught middle school and high school physics at Southwestern Schools, Hazel Green, Wisconsin for 32 years. During his teaching years he received many awards and opportunities to grow, among them being The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the Chemistry Catalyst Award, and a Fulbright award. These honors and grants took him to the Bering Sea, the Irish Sea, Japan, space camp in Huntsville, Alabama, UC-Berkeley and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

He retired from teaching in 2010 but always continued to learn as much as he could about as many different things as he could. He had many hobbies and interests, among them dirt bike riding, a private pilot license, scuba diving, photography, guitar and mandolin making, and his most recent interest of astrophotography in which he captured photos of many beautiful things in the universe that we can’t see with our naked eye.

He had a strong faith which was the core of his existence. He knew he would be present with his savior Jesus Christ and was looking forward to it as he knew his time was ending here on earth. He will greatly missed by those who loved him.

He requested no services and we are honoring his request. Memorials may be sent directly to Share International online at http://shareint.org/give/ In memory of Karl Beighley or to the family at:

1903 S Herron Drive, Nampa, Idaho 83686

I’m not sure if I will be notified of the donations made online, but if you let us know we would love to be able to thank you.

This is an organization that was dear to his heart. We know the founder personally and know that every cent is spent in a way to honor and glorify God by spreading the good news and providing education, food, and medical supplies to people in need.
