How you can help
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you consider making a donation to the family to help her husband Mike raise their adopted children on his own. As you may or may not know, 9 years ago it was discovered that Mike and Karim were soon to be grandparents of not one, but two infant boys who were in need of a safe and stable upbringing. Karim and Mike fought tooth and nail to gain custody of Luke and Osiris from the time they were born. Both children were legally adopted by Karim and Mike. Unfortunately, due to a botched surgery, Karim was disabled, deemed unable to continue to work and lived on a very limited fixed income. Mike retired and is also on a fixed income, and losing her disability is going to be a big hit on his finances. Please do not feel obligated to make a donation, but if you were considering sending flowers or meals, we request you donate to the family instead. Thank you.
