Kari's obituary

Kari Elizabeth Dayton, of Gambrills, MD passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 7th, 1976 in Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sharon Dayton.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Suthard; her sisters, Tiffany Hernandez and Bethany Smith (Russell) as well as her children, Tiffany Wilson (Cassidy), and Conner Suthard; and her cherished grandson, Graham Wilson, who brought her immeasurable joy.

She was proceeded in death by her older brother Derek Dayton.

Kari dedicated a lot to her work as a Principal’s Secretary at Woodside Elementary, where she was loved and respected. Outside of work, she found her greatest happiness spending time with her family, attending Orioles and Capitals games, cooking, watching law and order and enjoying days at the beach.

Kari fought courageously and relentlessly against clear cell ovarian cancer, showing remarkable strength and grace until the very end. In September, she proudly participated in an ovarian cancer walk, an experience she treasured deeply. Surrounded by fellow fighters and survivors, she embraced the moment fully and had the time of her life an enduring reflection of her fighting spirit and hopeful heart.

Known for her positivity, warmth, and bubbly personality, Kari uplifted everyone she met. Even through her hardest days, she remained optimistic with a smile on her face, kind, and full of love. Her strength, and courage will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kari wanted to donate her body to science so others can learn more about her rare cancer - to come up with more fast acting treatments.

A celebration of life will be held at Orchard Beach Fire Hall on March 22, 2026 at 12:00pm
