Karena Elizabeth Hynick (née Stammen)

February 7, 1969 – April 14, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karena Elizabeth Hynick, who left this world on April 14, 2025, at the age of 56. A beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Karena lived in Carson City, Nevada, where her presence brought warmth, creativity, and kindness to all who knew her.

Born on February 7, 1969, Karena lived a life full of love, smiles, and selfless generosity. She had a deep passion for crafting, finding joy in creating beautiful things for the people she loved. Her greatest joy, however, came from being a grandmother. Her face would light up around her grandchildren, and the bond she shared with each of them was truly special.

Karena was a shining example of loyalty, compassion, and quiet strength. She had a heart big enough for everyone, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path knew they were better for it.

She is survived by her children: Nathan, his wife, and daughter; Anthony, his wife Chelsie and their seven children—Easton, Liam, Conner, Logan, Landyn, Levigh, and Ava; and Victoria, her husband Kory, and their three children—Aubree, Connor, and Jackson. Karena also leaves behind her loving mother Carole; her siblings Chris, Theresa, Val, Mari and Joe; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John, and her dear sister, Marcy.

Karena’s kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will be missed deeply but remembered always. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, especially in the hearts of her grandchildren who brought her so much joy.
