Happy birthday to my sister. …
Santa Rosa CA Scottish Games, 70s sometime
Happy birthday to my sister. We were given the opportunity to put on Scottish gear and have our picture taken. They told us NOBODY smiled back in the day so we shouldn't either. All that solemn is controversial to this day hhaahahahahah. Fun faux Scottisih family picture though.

I wish I could comment on specific posts but apparently that isn't a feature on here, so I will use the story feature instead.

Becky: thank you for writing that story for us. I had no idea that happened so that was awesome to read. There's a lesson here about how the things you do, big and small, can have a big impact on someone, whether that's raising their spirits on a particular occasion, or creating a cool memory that just sticks with someone. Makes me sad to think how many people think of her that way and she didn't even realize it.

Sue: thanks for your message. When she made it to our parties she did like to hang around with the "outside people." It always surprised me a little (don't know why) but she also was comfortable hanging around with the people inside, many of whom she didn't know well at first. She was a cool individual.

Peggy: Peggy comes through with a blue-eyed Karen picture to complement Becky's story! She's our family historian and I love her for it!

Pat: I already miss her smile and just talking to her. Thanks for posting.

Dede: Thank you for posting that story. It's funny but I still talk about Sam occasionally, too. I have annoyed my kids (and probably my wife) on several occasions doing my best to immitate his Basset Hound bark/howl. Funny how a random neighbor's dog could be remembered "one or two" years later!

Karen was my first friend. I always remember thinking she was so pretty and so smart. We were neighbors we used to walk to school together. Sometimes on weekends we used to go around the block to a house that had a old basset hound dog name Sam and we would take him out on their lawn and sit there and play with him. And then we moved far and I didn’t see her but I heard from my sister and brother-in-law which was her brother John how she was. I remember attending her wedding she was so beautiful and looked so happy. Rest in peace Karen

Karen was always excited to see her family and catch up on their happenings. She stayed in the garage with the pool table and music. She will be missed by all.

Beautiful, sassy πŸ’β€β™€οΈ, coca-cola, her red Camaro and, Def Lep! I was about 8-10? and remember thinking I wanted to be cool 😎 like her! I asked her how she made her eyes so blue-and that was my first lesson on make-up. She brought me to her room (posters of Elvis and figurines of him everywhere) and it started! After my lesson on blue makeup she handed me a Def. Lep. T-shirt, rolled it up above my waist line a bit and teased my hair! Sprayed some Aqua net hairspray and she said, β€œTa-da!” I felt like a beauty queen when I came out to show grandma and grandpa! She surprised me with, β€œBecky and I are going for a spin.” I will never forget how excited I was and how awesome it was to have an aunty that would do all this and not make me feel like I was just a kid in the way! Lol We rode around blaring music for a bit while she sang a few songs-but it got real when she said, β€œ OK, right here you have to scream ROCK! ROCK! Till’ You Drop!” Fairway park and down Mission Blvd. we’re lovin’ us! Haha I will never forget how she always made others happy with her addictive laugh and no judgement on others. She let me keep that shirt and said I’d need it when I got to high school. Well, yes Aunty Karen...I wore the heck out of it!! Thank you for that ❀️ night and so many others like it! Playing piano with me, rescuing me from Uncle Dave and dad (your brothers) and grandpa (your dad) from the family contests that would go on out in the garage during pool nights! She taught me how to be a lady but fit in with the guys. That there was a time and place to be a lady and other times...well yeah. Haha 🀣 Now that I’m older I see I don’t carry so much of the classy side she had but it’s in there somewhere. Haha I sure hope you and dad are aren’t causing too much of a ruckus for grandma up there! 😜 You will be greatly missed here but I know you are welcomed by many angels In eternity. Rest In Peace Aunty Karen xoxo ❀️
